The marching arts have come a long way, and now indoor/field shows have become beautiful, theatrical experiences, that have many levels of complex design. My goal is to create custom imagery in props and costumes that are imaginative and sophisticated that enhance all aspects of your band's performance.

The combination of art and music
When I received my bachelor's degree in studio art, I wasn't sure where the road would take me. With a father-in-law as a band director and a daughter in band, I quickly realized how amazing the marching arts are. So complex and involved. This is a difficult sport that is also a full on theatrical production, with a lot of moving puzzle pieces. In arts terms, it was like a large scale dynamic, moving composition. As an artist, I tend to view the field as a giant canvas, and incorporate the elements of art and principles of design. Using space, color, shape, form, value, texture, balance, unity, variety, emphasis, movement, pattern, and proportion, is they key to creating a successful composition. The eye needs to be able to move around the field but also have places to rest. I design, using the science of art and Photoshop, to create visual interest that compliments all aspects of show, such as the music, drill, performers, and props. By working together, we can achieve your vision in designing unique marching band costumes and props. Band shows take a village, and I am happy to be part of the community.
